after 5 years

Just could not disciplined myself to write and always procrastinating. Finally the writing just stopped and today, realised that it has been 5 years since my last posting. How time flies.

For the past 5 years, many things happened and many places visited. Will try to recall and post them here soonest.

The world is currently in a 'mayhem' with the pandemic of Covid-19 disrupting life and taking lives. Within 6 months, millions are infected with high fatality rate. People all over need to adapt to the new normal - social distancing, work from home, wearing mask, no more congregation etc.
Even retail businesses are affected with many if not all temporarily closed. We saw countries closing their borders, schools closed and students introduced to Home Based Learning. This has been a challenging period for the government as well as citizens.

On the bright side, lesser people movement translate to lesser vehicles on the road thus, lower air pollutant and lesser money spent which is not bad to some but not to the economy. Anyway the WHO forecast that Covid-19 will stay much longer and life goes on.

Last Sunday was the Festival of Eid celebrated by Muslims all over the world. The way it was celebrated was unprecedented in my life. There's no (Terawih) congregation prayer in the mosque during the month of Ramadan and no Eid prayer in the mosque as well. As I said earlier live goes on, we did all the prayer at home. Another new norm as long as Mosques are still closed for congregation during this pandemic.

Its a kind of sad having to celebrate Eid without having visitors to your home especially without the children and grand children. We have to make do with video call and some other technologies to remain connected with loved ones. The memory of this unprecedented way to celebrate the Festival of Eid will definitely stays with us and all Muslims the world over. We pray for this pandemic to end and for our life back to normal. And also to remember that everything happens with a reason.
Allah knows best.
